Rowen Bridler Live at Harrison 's bar

In an unlikely location for a lush and retro inspired watering hole, The Harrison Bar
was buzzing with an eclectic mix of locals, football fans, the odd youngster, and a
smattering of art students.

After a rather impromptu introduction from the event organiser, Rowen took to the
stage and the hum of chatter and bar noises subsided as soon as the first rousing
chord was played. From then on, you could see the audience, who had been previously
squabbling about the next round, sit transfixed… not sure what the next 15 minutes
would offer, but more than willing to find out.

The set started off with a slow, melodic number with worked perfectly in settling and
reassuring the crowd that Rowen was worthy of their attention and time for that evening.

Despite not being one for “banter”, this didn't appear to matter, as the vision of a
performer so involved in the moment and the music seemed to drag the audience
deeper in with her, rather than shut them out.

After “pretend” and “home truths” Rowen upped the pace with “existence” and the biting
humour and quirky staccato had the undivided attention of the whole room.

For 15 minutes of that evening, Rowen Bridler had managed to make a group of people
in a central London bar forget that England had performed so badly in the World Cup.

Rowen will be performing in the London area to promote her latest work and to
showcase new material. We will bring you news of her live appearances via the
Zube website.
